A week after the tragic fire at the Quakers Hill Nursing Home the community is united in its grief for those who lost their lives and in its determination to assist all those who are resettling into alternative accommodation.
A number of older Australians lost their lives in the tragedy and others are in hospital with serious injuries.
While the immediate response to the tragedy from emergency services, staff and volunteers was exemplary the aged care sector must be congratulated for its unity in re-housing the survivors with the minimum of disruption and also to similarly place staff.
On behalf of the Coalition, sincere condolences and thoughts go to everyone affected by this fire.
